Wild Horse as Totem by Ravenari Wild Horse as Totem by Ravenari
Wild Horse / Brumby as Totem

This card practically glistens in real life, it has metallic paint AND pencil on it, and some of it thankfully has picked up in the scan. :D

The brumby represents wildness, cooperation, endurance, and is a powerful teacher, check it out here:

So I was Googling horse as totem info (just to see what the 'tubes thought xD) and this exact page was the top hit. Between DA and Wildspeak (and all the LJ places), you, like, OWN the internets, P!

Hee, it's a bit scary isn't it? Especially considering all the utter shite and dribble I've said over the years.
Here's hoping my shiny shiny art distracts people.
'Over here, shinies!'

Oh my that really looks wild. Probably the overall crowdedness and strong colours, OR just your magic. Yep the latter is more probable.

As always, the eyes... I´ve ridden for a long time and it really has the look of a horse in its eyes. I really like the way the vines grow out of its mane, too.

And yet again I fail miserably in the ways of constructive criticism or just about anything useful :D

Thank you, I have real problems drawing horse / with horse energy, and it has been so gratifying - with this picture - how many horse people have actually said that I 'got it.' It means that I'm on the right track. :)

Nice, I really like the way the mane flows, and it fits in really nicely with the leaves around it.

I love the eye especially... has the solemn depth of the horses I've known. <3

Will probably have to order a print of this one too, eventually! Gah, our apartment will be decorated in Pia-art! *heh!*

Beautiful work. Getting caught in the middle of a herd of wild brumbies is a more memorable moment in my life, they were just as surprised as I was:)

It was an amazing day, quite a while ago now when I was young and spry:D The day included wild pigs, a dingo, the brumbies, some water buffalo, a few camels, a few wild donkeys some crocodiles and we even caught a few fish for dinner. It was up in the Northern Territory and we'd gone off on a fishing trip for the weekend. Was fun...I don't know how I'm still alive!

My sister's favorite animal is a horse, and I feel like this has the same attitude. You did a wonderful job on this one. I'll probably have to order a print for her. :)

I agree with CunningFox all the way. And yes, I can see the glistening, but mostly on the leaves. Too bad that computers do not always render things as well as in real life. The dark background feels different, it give a lot of depth. That definetly is a very well composed card.

Thank you! And yea a black background is pretty unusual for me, but I think it works here. :D

this one has a beautiful composition! Love this totem. All the colours blare Australian yet it is not overcrowded with patterns and bright colour. this definitly has to be one of my favourites out of the set. Love how you did them eucalypts too!
