Emerald Moth as Totem by Ravenari Emerald Moth as Totem by Ravenari
Emerald Moth as Totem

There are thousands of emerald moth species out there, and I loosely based this one off the Large Emerald Moth, or Geometra papilionaria. They are beautiful, delicate creatures. They feed off alder, beech, rowan and hazel.

Such a lovely shade of green. It almost looks like
it could be peridot!

It's a pretty one, and one of the most
active peridot mines in the world is here
in Arizona--in a town called Peridot!

Actually the Emerald Moth isn't from Australia, I'm pretty sure that this guy is from Europe, but there are plenty of others from North America as well. :)

Lovely! There are so many detains on the body of this moth. I really like how you swayed the lines of the background, it contrasts the wings beautifully.
