Blue Ringed Octopus Totem

Not much has changed from the original (which I'll move over to scraps if I haven't done so already) except that the colouring is better and I'm happier with the linework.

Next to this one, your other works look really flooded with detail. I´m not sure about this one, it seems strange to me - but not bad at all. I probably just need to look at it some more to get used to it.

Nevertheless, cute fellow, and the negative space works well :)

yeah it's super minimalistic. I used to do a lot of stuff like this a long time ago, and I actually miss doing it now. But I think you have a point too, I think my other more detailed stuff seems to work better for these sorts of animal pictures.
